Fabulous Encounters: Gender Liberation and Theater Arts
Fabulous Encounters utilizes surrealist writing exercises and theater games derived from Theater of the Oppressed as a way to celebrate fluidity of gender and the complexities of identity. This workshop will look at various artists and activists during the last century who incorporated gender liberation and trans formative justice into their work. From here we will engage in individual and group activities to create our work to further understand the politics of gender and sexuality.
Revolutionary Objects Unite!: Puppetry as Creative Resistance
Puppets are not tame objects to manipulate, but potent vessels for our unbridled imagination. After an introduction to the world of puppetry as creative resistance, we will create puppet theater using a cheap and accessible range of materials as well as learn how to use puppetry as a tool to discuss complex ideas and issues. This will/can include paper mache, recycled materials, collage, and shadows plus an array of theater games.

Additional Information: Workshops are available for 60 minute or 120 minute blocks. Workshops can be a single event or as part of a residency.
